Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain ingestion pipelines from production source systems.

• Create transformation models that convert raw data into reliable datasets.

• Implement dimensional and medallion modeling patterns as the data warehouse evolves.

• Deploy pipelines to production and conduct thorough testing, including idempotency and data quality assessments.

• Contribute to the design of data models and schemas, as well as participate in design reviews.

• Document your work, including creating runbooks for the pipelines under your ownership.

• Collaborate closely with a staff data engineer and a platform engineer while developing PerfectServe's data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building data pipelines, with ownership of some in production.

• Proficient in SQL and a programming language such as Python, Go, or similar.

• Hands-on experience with dbt or another transformation framework.

• Familiarity with a cloud data warehouse like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or equivalent.

• Practical experience with ELT and orchestration tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airflow, or comparable).

• Knowledge of AWS, including object storage, basic access management, and sufficient networking skills to understand data movement.

• An instinct for testing data, not just code.
