Senior Data Engineer – Tieto Tech Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data platforms and business-centric data solutions.

• Establish governance frameworks and access control strategies.

• Create, implement, and enhance robust data pipelines utilizing Databricks or comparable technologies.

• Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.

• Implement containerization and orchestration techniques.

• Serve as a reliable technical advisor and collaborative partner for clients.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Monitor and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of data workflows.

• Keep abreast of data engineering trends and incorporate innovative methodologies.

• Continuously acquire knowledge and mentor peers within an agile, end-to-end development framework.

• Organize tasks, solve challenges, and proactively question the status quo.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, platforms, and data integration interfaces.

• Strong proficiency in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and normalization/denormalization techniques.

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms; Azure preferred, with AWS or GCP also acceptable.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and architectural patterns such as Medallion.

• Proficient programming skills in Python and SQL.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, orchestration, and contemporary development practices.

• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Consulting mindset with a customer-focused approach.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level and English for stakeholder interactions.

• Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and a commitment to ongoing learning in the data and AI fields.

• Strong sense of ownership, self-motivation, capacity to quickly grasp new topics, and a readiness to constructively challenge existing norms.

• Team-oriented, responsible, organized, and possessing excellent communication skills.

• Relevant certifications in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and MS Azure are viewed as a significant advantage.
