Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake, Redshift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create, construct, and scale contemporary cloud-based data platforms.

• Develop and manage scalable and secure cloud-native data platforms and data pipelines.

• Oversee Snowflake data warehouse design, optimization, and operational management.

• Design ELT/ETL pipelines to acquire, transform, and deliver data from internal and external sources.

• Establish reusable data frameworks, transformation models, and orchestration workflows.

• Create infrastructure-as-code and automation for data platform provisioning when suitable.

• Enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across data workloads.

• Facilitate near real-time and batch data processing.

• Advance Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, security, governance, and operational methodologies.

• Design and refine Snowflake schemas, warehouses, clustering strategies, and data sharing mechanisms.

• Create and uphold curated data models for analytics, reporting, and operational applications.

• Convert business requirements into scalable data solutions alongside analysts, stakeholders, and engineering teams.

• Promote self-service analytics through semantic layers and governed datasets.

• Support and enhance BI and reporting platforms such as Looker and Power BI.

• Implement data quality controls, validation frameworks, reconciliation processes, and monitoring systems.

• Address data integrity, consistency, and performance challenges.

• Establish observability and operational monitoring for pipeline and platform reliability.

• Contribute to data governance, lineage, cataloguing, and metadata management.

• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business stakeholders.

• Mentor junior engineers and analysts.

• Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and platform strategies.

• Propel continuous improvement in data architecture, tooling, and delivery methodologies.

• Enhance organizational data literacy and maturity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar data platform positions.

• Experience in designing and supporting multi-region and enterprise-scale data platform architectures.

• Proven ability to drive performance optimization and cloud cost efficiency across extensive data workloads.

• Solid understanding of platform reliability, operational maturity, resilience, and production support.

• Experience in implementing governance, security, access control, and data protection frameworks.

• Capability to develop architectural standards, engineering documentation, and scalable design patterns.

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake in enterprise-scale settings.

• Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex analytical queries and data transformation optimization.

• Experience in building and maintaining modern ELT/ETL pipelines and orchestration workflows.

• Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and scalable data architecture.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Matillion, or equivalent tools.

• Experience in integrating structured and semi-structured data sources.

• Understanding of data governance, security, and access management principles.

• Ability to manage large and complex datasets in a production environment.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Capability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile, and collaborative settings.

• Applicants must be located in the Philippines or possess legal work eligibility there; sponsorship requirements are addressed in the application.

• Desirable: experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, or regulated industries.

• Desirable: familiarity with Kafka or Kinesis.

• Desirable: experience with machine learning data pipelines and advanced analytics workloads.

• Desirable: knowledge of CI/CD practices for data engineering.

• Desirable: experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
