Senior Data Engineer, BI-ETL, Databricks, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, build, and enhance robust and maintainable data pipelines and models.

• Orchestrate processes using Airflow, incorporating monitoring, alerts, retries, and quality controls.

• Create and develop analytical models with dbt, applying modularity, testing, documentation, and lineage.

• Participate in defining layered architectures and data contracts for BI, analytics, and AI.

• Optimize performance, costs, and reliability of processes.

• Identify technical debt and opportunities for simplification.

• Collaborate with business, BI, and platform profiles to transform needs into sustainable data solutions.

• Explore and apply AI use cases to enhance development, quality, documentation, and data utilization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 4 years of experience in data engineering; shorter trajectories will be considered if they demonstrate equivalent seniority, impact, and autonomy.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.

• Knowledge of data modeling, version control, CI/CD, observability, and data quality.

• Ability to analyze complex problems, propose alternatives, and explain technical decisions in a simple manner.

• Product mindset, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Experience in data governance, cataloging, lineage, security, or cost management will be valued.

• Experience in evolving platforms from legacy processes to reusable models and semantic layers will be valued.

• Experience with generative AI or machine learning applied to data engineering or new data products will be valued.

• Willingness to share knowledge, review code, and elevate the technical standards of the team will be valued.
