This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +2 more countries.
• Develop, construct, and sustain high-throughput, low-latency batch and streaming data pipelines for financial transactions.
• Design, scale, and enhance cloud data warehouse and lakehouse architectures for both structured and unstructured data.
• Work in partnership with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to convert business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Establish data quality frameworks, automated testing, monitoring, and alert notifications.
• Guarantee data integrity, reliability, high availability, and compliance with SLAs.
• Promote DataOps methodologies, including CI/CD, workflow automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Advocate for data governance, privacy, and security standards, ensuring compliance with GDPR/LGPD.
• Guide junior and mid-level Data Engineers while encouraging engineering best practices and contemporary architectural patterns.
• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or related Software Engineering positions.
• A proven history of managing high-volume, production-grade data systems in dynamic environments.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL for intricate data processing, optimization, and software development.
• Practical experience with Apache Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, and modern lakehouse architectures, including Data Mesh principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS data services, especially S3, Glue, Athena, EventBridge, Firehose, and Lambda.
• Substantial experience with data orchestration and warehousing technologies, such as Apache Airflow or similar DAG-based tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
• Experience in designing real-time streaming architectures utilizing Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
• Understanding of dbt.
• Strong grasp of DevOps/DataOps methodologies, including Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS or GCP.
• Advanced proficiency in English is required, with effective communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts.
