Senior Cloud Architect – Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and take ownership of the comprehensive cloud architecture, encompassing infrastructure topology, account/subscription structuring, networking, and governance models.

• Convert business and technical needs into scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures.

• Establish and uphold security best practices that address identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, and data protection.

• Collaborate with the FinOps Manager to implement cost governance practices that monitor, forecast, and optimize cloud expenditures.

• Promote the adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation methodologies.

• Work alongside engineering, operations, software development, and security teams to ensure infrastructure decisions align with product and business objectives.

• Assist Software R&D and software development teams in creating robust and scalable SaaS and PaaS solutions.

• Set architecture standards, lead design reviews, and ensure consistency across teams and projects.

• Mentor and guide engineers on cloud architecture principles and best practices.

• Assess new cloud services, tools, and industry trends.

• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, high-availability design, and incident response strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a similar senior technical position.

• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud solutions.

• Primary experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms; experience with AWS is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including IAM, encryption, network security, and zero-trust architecture.

• Familiarity with industry-specific compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Bicep/ARM.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Scripting/programming abilities in languages like Python or Go, along with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid grasp of networking concepts, including VPNs, VPCs/VNets, load balancing, and DNS.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in mentoring and guiding engineering teams.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
