Staff Developer – Cloud Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the long-term technical vision for Jane's infrastructure in collaboration with staff and senior staff engineers.

• Transform the infrastructure vision into tangible deliverables.

• Navigate complex, ambiguous challenges to resolution across various teams.

• Cultivate relationships and build consensus to implement significant infrastructure enhancements.

• Offer technical guidance to teams tasked with designing cloud infrastructure and making architectural choices.

• Enhance operational health by minimizing noisy alerts, securing the platform, and streamlining operations.

• Work alongside the Application Security Team to ensure infrastructure security and compliance.

• Assist the team in leveraging AI tools while managing associated infrastructure risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of AWS, including multi-region deployments and high-scale, highly available cloud services.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code, especially Terraform.

• Strong skills in infrastructure architecture.

• Experience managing databases at scale, covering upgrades, scaling, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

• Proven experience in leading large projects and achieving consensus among various stakeholders.

• Background in a significant-scale, rapidly growing company.

• AI-positive mindset with practical experience in utilizing AI as a coding and research tool.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Technical leadership skills to set a clear direction, elevate standards, and mentor others.

• Must currently reside and work in Canada.

• Must have the eligibility to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship.
