This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide comprehensive technical leadership and guidance for cloud computing implementation initiatives.
• Assist in the design, development, migration, foundational cloud services, and cloud adoption efforts for cloud-based solutions.
• Lead pilot projects for cloud initiatives and create architectural concepts and models tailored for federal government contexts.
• Facilitate the adoption of serverless cloud architecture in relation to DevSecOps and cloud integration.
• Promote automation via DevSecOps, USDA eAuth integration, and Azure Security Center.
• Assist in the intake of applications into the CIO portfolio.
• Strategically evaluate existing applications to identify support and service requirements in line with CIO standards.
• Conduct application rationalization processes.
• Formulate modernization strategies and technical roadmaps.
• Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders.
• Create architecture diagrams.
• Present solution recommendations addressing business challenges while adhering to USDA/FS IT standards and investments.
• Document new application requirements and estimate resource needs as directed.
• Suggest opportunities for CIO management to prevent duplication of systems, applications, and interfaces.
• Draft application support plans for the CIO, including architecture diagrams.
• Prepare resource support plans in collaboration with the Scrum Master or Project Manager, detailing resources, skills, duration, and sequencing.
• Present solution architecture to the architecture review board and/or CAB as required.
• Participate in weekly CIO meetings.
• Document architecture-related tasks in GitHub.
• Must have a Public Trust or be eligible to obtain one.
• AWS Cloud Architect certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience with the design, development, and migration of cloud-based solutions.
• Background in cloud computing within an architectural role.
• Familiarity with serverless cloud architecture and design is essential.
• Previous experience integrating with USDA data centers and environments is required.
• Experience with automation processes through DevSecOps.
• Knowledge of USDA eAuth integration is necessary.
• Proficiency with Azure Security Center is expected.
• Prior experience supporting projects for the U.S. Federal Government is advantageous.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Strong time management and decision-making skills.
• Basic organizational skills for tasks.
