Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable data platforms and solutions that align with business requirements.

• Develop governance frameworks and concepts for access control.

• Design, implement, and enhance robust data pipelines utilizing Databricks or comparable technologies.

• Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, incorporating containerization and orchestration.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and collaborative partner for clients.

• Work alongside cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Monitor and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of data workflows.

• Keep abreast of data engineering trends and apply innovative strategies to complex challenges.

• Engage in continuous learning and actively mentor colleagues within an agile, end-to-end development framework.

• Organize tasks, solve problems, and constructively challenge existing processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, platforms, and integration interfaces.

• Strong proficiency in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and normalization/denormalization techniques.

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms; Azure preferred, but AWS or GCP are also acceptable.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and architectural patterns such as Medallion.

• Strong programming abilities in Python and SQL.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development methodologies.

• Capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Consulting mindset with a customer-focused approach.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level and English for stakeholder interactions.

• Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and a commitment to continuous learning in the data and AI sectors.

• High degree of ownership and self-motivation.

• Ability to quickly engage with new subjects and constructively question the status quo.

• Collaborative team player who takes initiative and shows accountability.

• Relevant certifications in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and MS Azure are considered a significant advantage.
