This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Serve as a senior technical expert in Data Engineering, establishing data modeling and architectural standards along with best practices for scalable data pipelines.
• Lead impactful data engineering projects across various domains.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Engineering, and other business teams to convert strategic requirements into effective data solutions.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options to optimize impact and efficiency in product analytics and infrastructure.
• Manage technical debt while ensuring the systems' scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Report directly to the Head of Data.
• Demonstrated experience as a senior data engineer.
• Direct ownership of extensive data pipelines and intricate data architectures.
• Strong technical judgment, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a mindset focused on process efficiency.
• Familiarity with contemporary data engineering best practices, including data lakes, lakehouse architectures, and ETL/ELT methodologies.
• Experience in designing and managing cloud-native data platforms on AWS, covering orchestration, storage, compute, and IAM.
• Proficient in orchestration and workflow tools such as Airflow.
• Basic understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools like Terraform.
• Experience in building and managing batch and streaming data systems, including the trade-offs involved; examples include Kafka, Kinesis, and Spark Streaming.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a distributed, international setting.
• Preferred: Familiarity with DBT, metadata/catalog tools, DMS, AppFlow, SQS/SNS, Data Mesh, domain-driven data, and production-grade software systems.
• Must reside in Brazil.
• Must adhere to Brasilia Standard Time.
• Employment will be under a CLT contract.
