Data Engineering Lead

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of enterprise data platform projects

• Establish architectural guidelines and maintain technical excellence from design through to production

• Create engineering standards, data modeling methodologies, and platform governance frameworks

• Act as the main technical authority for decisions regarding data platform design

• Provide guidance to IT leadership and data architects

• Propel efforts for data platform modernization and cloud adoption

• Formulate strategic recommendations for senior leadership

• Manage relationships with vendors and tools essential for core data engineering platforms

• Oversee roadmap alignment and handle escalations

• Detect gaps in data architecture, technical debt, and areas for improvement

• Create actionable recommendations

• Mentor senior data engineers and enhance technical capabilities within the data engineering team

• Acknowledged subject-matter expert with the ability to operate with minimal supervision

• Main point of responsibility for a specific area of IT data engineering tasks

• Capacity to proactively tackle undefined issues and propose recommendations that influence functional strategy

• Skill in synthesizing input from various stakeholder groups

• Proficiency in data engineering architecture and standards

• Experience with enterprise data platforms, data modeling, platform governance, data platform modernization, and cloud adoption

• Proven experience in managing vendor and tool relationships for essential data engineering platforms

• Ability to identify gaps in data architecture, technical debt, and opportunities for improvement

• Capability to mentor senior data engineers and foster technical growth across the team
