Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee small to medium-sized technical teams.

• Assign and manage work distribution among team members.

• Offer technical escalation and support as needed.

• Act as the team's representative in Agile ceremonies and client meetings.

• Create and implement logical and physical data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse settings.

• Develop data architectures that accommodate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

• Execute complete life-cycle data warehouse implementations.

• Design data architectures that facilitate data integration processes.

• Conduct data profiling and establish source-to-target mappings.

• Provision and set up Azure data service resources.

• Construct data pipelines based on requirements.

• Make technical decisions and provide mentorship to junior team members.

• Cultivate relationships with project, client, and company leadership while remaining actively involved.

• Engage in Azure-centric client projects and embrace new technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading small to medium-sized technical teams, including work allocation, technical escalation, and representation in Agile ceremonies and client meetings.

• Expertise in designing and implementing logical and physical data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse environments.

• Experience in implementing data architectures that support structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

• Background in multiple full life-cycle data warehouse implementations.

• Knowledge of data architectures that support data integration processes.

• Familiarity with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, ER/Win, or similar technologies.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure Data Platform services, including Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps, and APIs.

• Ability to swiftly learn, adopt, and utilize new technologies.

• Experience in data profiling and creating source-to-target mappings.

• Capability to provision and configure Azure data service resources.

• At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in the field.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL scripting.

• Knowledge of SQL and PySpark.

• General competency in cloud architecture, including the construction of data pipelines based on requirements.

• API knowledge is required; API creation experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, Data Flows, ExpressRoute, and Azure Active Directory is preferred.

• Experience in devising strategies to migrate customers from on-premises environments to Azure is preferred.

• Knowledge of Power BI and semantic modeling is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory is preferred.

• Experience with AWS S3 and Azure Blob is preferred.

• Knowledge of AWS Athena and Azure Databricks is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS Redshift and Azure Synapse is preferred.

• Experience with AWS ECS and Azure AKS is preferred.
