Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Talan's cutting-edge data platform.

• Collaborate under the direction of the Central Platform Team.

• Create the Databricks engineering framework.

• Establish reusable development methodologies.

• Improve the core codebase.

• Design scalable data solutions utilizing contemporary data engineering techniques and AI-assisted development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer with Databricks.

• Strong expertise in PySpark, SQL, and Python within the Databricks environment.

• Practical experience with modern IDEs, particularly VS Code.

• Familiarity with version control practices using Git/GitHub.

• Interest or experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT for coding tasks.

• Proven experience in implementing design patterns, reusable frameworks, and modular data pipelines.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, platform-oriented setting.

• Availability to work full-time within the UK time zone.

• Familiarity with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or Medallion Architecture is advantageous.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data engineering, including GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, is a plus.

• Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP is a bonus.
