This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +39 more locations.
• Design and construct scalable, production-level data pipelines and data models for downstream analytics and enterprise reporting.
• Implement and uphold data validation, testing, and quality assurance standards across data models.
• Collaborate with App Engineering to gain insights into source systems and define the capture and modeling of downstream data.
• Work alongside Analytics Engineering, BI, Finance, Marketing, Product, and other business stakeholders.
• Convert ambiguous reporting requirements into scalable, well-structured datasets.
• Ensure compliance of data models with GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, and other data security and privacy regulations through access controls and monitoring.
• Mentor fellow data engineers on modeling best practices, documentation, and data processing methodologies.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering efficiency, code quality, and observability.
• Deliver production-ready datasets that serve as reliable sources of truth for reporting and decision-making.
• Enhance data quality and stakeholder confidence through consistent validation and quality assurance standards.
• Over 4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or dimensional modeling roles, focused on building production data models.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in transforming data from various sources into a scalable warehouse or lakehouse.
• Strong skills in Python, including Pandas and NumPy.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, ELT workflows, and contemporary data architecture patterns.
• Demonstrated capability to model raw, complex data into well-structured, analytics-ready datasets.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Ability to interpret ambiguous business requirements and create scalable, well-designed datasets.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to live and work full-time in one of Kin’s listed states, or Ontario for eligible remote technical positions in Canada.
