Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance GoMining's cloud data platform utilizing Google Cloud Platform.

• Create scalable data architectures in alignment with contemporary engineering principles, such as Medallion Architecture.

• Establish and oversee data models, data contracts, and integration standards across various systems.

• Construct and sustain dependable batch and streaming data pipelines.

• Integrate data from internal services as well as third-party APIs.

• Develop scalable ETL/ELT workflows and automate data processing tasks.

• Build and maintain analytical data marts for business and product teams.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the platform.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and SLA management for data pipelines.

• Enhance platform performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Promote Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD practices, and automation within the data platform.

• Contribute to the development of ML and AI infrastructure.

• Establish engineering best practices, uphold code quality standards, and maintain technical documentation.

• Collaborate effectively with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in Data Engineering, including at least 3 years in Senior-level positions.

• Strong foundation in software engineering with exceptional Python proficiency.

• Proven experience in designing and constructing cloud-based data platforms and data warehouses.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Composer (Airflow).

• Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming architectures, and API integrations.

• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of data modeling, distributed systems, and scalable data architectures.

• Experience in implementing data quality, monitoring, and observability solutions.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Nice to have: Experience in building ML infrastructure and supporting Data Science teams.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming platforms.

• Nice to have: Experience in fintech, crypto, Web3, or high-scale B2C products.

• Nice to have: Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.
