Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold extensive data infrastructure and data processing systems.

• Create robust and scalable solutions that facilitate data-driven applications, analytics, and business intelligence.

• Integrate data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and streaming platforms.

• Enhance data processing and query performance through improvements in data pipelines, database configurations, and data partitioning.

• Set up data quality checks and validations while addressing any data-related issues.

• Implement data security protocols, encompassing encryption, access controls, and adherence to regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Design and construct data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines.

• Establish auditing and monitoring systems for data access and governance.

• Monitor and alert for bottlenecks, latency, and failures; troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions.

• Explore frameworks, platforms, and cloud services that enhance data processing capabilities.

• Utilize DevSecOps practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the IT industry.

• At least 2 years of experience in Python development.

• More than 3 years of experience with SQL-based relational databases and T-SQL.

• Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks.

• Must be available to work during EST time zone hours.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience).

• Preferred experience with DB2 and IBM DataStage.

• Preferred experience with SQL Server and SSIS or other ETL tools.

• Experience in both Windows and Linux environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is preferred.

• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud (GCP), is preferred.

• Skills in problem solving, decision making, and collaboration in a team environment are preferred.

• A growth mindset is preferred.
