This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead the architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data center and colocation projects from initial concept to construction administration and closeout.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, construction groups, and external stakeholders to create coordinated and integrated design solutions.
• Develop and evaluate drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client guidelines.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to facilitate delivery and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as the architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients.
• Ensure design efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility operations.
• Mentor junior architects and designers to foster their professional growth.
• Maintain and implement best practices and trends in data center design.
• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new projects.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on prominent data center initiatives.
• Participate in client meetings, significant project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other essential business activities as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Familiarity with building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design specifications.
• Proficient in BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and other related design tools.
• Preferred 5+ years of experience working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models.
• Active U.S. Architectural license is preferred.
• LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials is preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced, global project environments is preferred.
• Extensive background in working with permitting authorities and AHJs is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.
