Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop software for comprehensive data platform migrations, encompassing analysis of legacy systems, solution design, implementation, validation, and the decommissioning of outdated platforms.

• Take ownership of large-scale migrations, such as transitioning from Snowflake to BigQuery, including the corresponding reporting changes to Looker.

• Design and execute reliable, scalable data pipelines that facilitate business analytics.

• Act as a subject matter expert for data flows, pipelines, and reporting logic.

• Maintain operational stability and ensure data quality during critical business periods like the AEP.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments.

• Identify data dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization across various systems.

• Collaborate with analytics, BI, and business stakeholders to provide reliable and efficient data solutions.

• Offer technical support to colleagues and enhance engineering standards.

• Manage projects from design to production, including documentation and knowledge transfer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the offered position, as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or a similar role.

• Experience in a production data environment, focusing on the building, maintenance, and support of data pipelines and platforms.

• Proven track record in leading cloud data migrations and modernizing platforms.

• Familiarity with BigQuery, Snowflake, and cloud-based data architectures.

• Experience in migrating, supporting, and maintaining BI and reporting platforms, including Looker; Mode experience is a plus.

• Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages.

• Experience with ETL/ELT tools, such as Talend, and contemporary data pipeline methodologies.

• Background in building and managing marketing data integrations.

• Experience with both internal and external API integrations.

• Knowledge of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, performance enhancement, and cost-effective cloud design.

• Experience in delivering comprehensive technical solutions utilizing distributed systems, specifically one of AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with either Spark or Kafka, and programming languages like Python, C#, or SQL.

• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and at least one of Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.

• Experience in documenting data architecture and diagrams using tools like Miro, Lucidchart, draw.io, Confluence, and Notion.

• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
