Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and sustain data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric Data Factory.

• Construct and uphold data warehouse solutions that cater to reporting and analytics needs.

• Develop and enhance ETL/ELT processes for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data.

• Integrate data from various sources while maintaining data quality, consistency, and reliability.

• Employ SQL and data modeling techniques to facilitate efficient data processing and storage.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of data solutions within Microsoft Fabric.

• Collaborate with BI Developers and other team members on reporting and analytics projects.

• Diagnose data pipeline and warehouse issues and implement improvements for performance.

• Document data processes, pipeline configurations, and technical solutions comprehensively.

• Adhere to best practices for data quality, data governance, and solution maintenance.

• Engage in business alignment calls, client interviews, and project-specific technical assessments as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data integration, or a comparable role.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, specifically Data Factory and Data Warehouse.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, data transformation, and ETL/ELT processes.

• Understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and data warehousing principles.

• Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines.

• Familiarity with data quality checks, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a growing data and BI team.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Microsoft Fabric or other relevant Microsoft data certifications are preferred.

• Experience with Power BI and supporting data models for reporting and analytics is a plus.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services is advantageous.

• Knowledge of data Lakehouse architecture and contemporary data platforms is beneficial.

• Availability to work within CET ±3 hours.

• Successful completion of Castille Vetting (background and compliance checks).
