Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create dependable, high-performance data architectures.

• Oversee the complete data lifecycle, from connecting various sources to transformation, modeling, and delivery.

• Supply data for applications, dashboards, and analytical purposes.

• Work alongside developers and product teams to implement data-driven features.

• Contribute to technical concepts and provide effort estimates.

• Automate data imports, deployments, quality checks, and notifications.

• Assist colleagues through code reviews and collaborative programming.

• Stay updated on advancements in AI and engage in ongoing professional development.

• Offer AI expertise and consulting support to internal teams and clients.

• Help enhance and refine services provided by public-service broadcasters.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in data engineering.

• Proven experience in designing and managing data platforms.

• Ability to articulate complex data and architectural topics with clarity.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with pandas, PostgreSQL, and Docker.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Scheduler, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.

• Understanding of performance and cost optimization strategies.

• Experience with orchestrated pipelines, automated transformation testing, data quality checks, linting, and formatting.

• Capability to critically assess technological trends and differentiate between hype and authentic value.

• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and coding agents.

• Familiarity with FastAPI is preferred.

• Knowledge of Apache Airflow is a plus.

• Experience integrating AI models into data processes, such as through Vertex AI, is advantageous.

• Experience in a digital agency and/or media company is beneficial.
