Senior Software Engineer – Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the engineering manager to design data models and carry out data migrations.

• Enhance the data layer by improving its security, reliability, and accuracy.

• Develop and maintain data pipelines as well as reporting access.

• Empower feature teams and business stakeholders to independently access reliable data.

• Oversee query performance, data quality, and system capacity.

• Implement documented processes for schema changes and data quality assurance.

• Advance data security and governance initiatives, including PHI access audit logs, data-store access controls, and sensitive-data detection.

• Review the code of team members, particularly focusing on changes related to data.

• Assist other teams with data requests and security evaluations.

• Collaborate with feature teams and stakeholders to refine the data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in designing relational data models, planning and executing data migrations, and developing dependable data pipelines.

• Familiarity with current best practices in schema design, query optimization, and data quality management.

• Background in data analytics or warehousing.

• Proven experience in building backend services and APIs using an object-oriented programming language.

• Expertise in securing sensitive data in production environments, including implementing access control, encryption, audit logging, and managing PHI or PII.

• Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated sector is a plus.

• Familiarity with building and utilizing custom agents is advantageous.

• Knowledge of TypeScript, AWS, serverless functions, PostgreSQL, and Databricks is desirable.

• Must have the authorization to work for any employer in the US without restrictions.

• Should not require visa sponsorship at present or in the future.
