Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain machine learning pipelines, data pipelines, and data repositories for advertising applications.

• Address engineering challenges and work in partnership with team members.

• Facilitate both manual and automated testing in an engineer-driven continuous deployment setting.

• Utilize data structures and algorithms effectively, while optimizing their application.

• Create scalable, privacy-focused data pipelines and data architecture.

• Write and uphold unit tests alongside code coverage documentation.

• Achieve results through teamwork, prototyping, test-driven continuous integration, pull request evaluations, ticket management, and acceptance testing.

• Develop programmatic solutions for business challenges and automate various business processes.

• Take ownership of functionalities from development to deployment.

• Contribute innovative ideas, research, and expertise to enhance team capabilities.

• Engage in or lead team meetings, mentor junior personnel, and participate in pair programming.

• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, designers, and developers to assess work size and scope.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering for a Senior position.

• More than 7 years showcasing technical leadership for a Lead role.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, mathematics, or a related STEM discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience and/or training in Go, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python application development.

• Experience in constructing data pipelines utilizing Apache Spark.

• Proven experience in deploying machine learning models.

• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Capable of writing clean, thoroughly tested Spark and Python code.

• Ability to create scalable and privacy-conscious data pipelines and architecture.

• Experience in producing unit tests and code coverage reports.

• Quick learner of new languages, tools, and systems.

• Proficient in deploying quality code and engaging in test-driven CI and pull request evaluations.

• Strong collaborative skills with product owners, analysts, designers, and developers.

• Capable of mentoring junior staff, pair programming, and participating in or leading team meetings.
