This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
β’ Lead collaborative efforts across various functions to establish and uphold certified business definitions, KPIs, metrics, and logic within designated data domains.
β’ Design, document, and sustain enterprise-ready curated tables and high-performance data models in Databricks that are aligned with business and analytical requirements.
β’ Enhance data pipelines, including partitioning, file compaction, compute utilization, and query costs, to boost performance, scalability, and production stability.
β’ Implement Unity Catalog governance standards, covering data ownership, permissions, certification, and workflows for access management.
β’ Set and oversee data reliability standards, including freshness SLAs, completeness thresholds, schema drift detection, and automated anomaly monitoring.
β’ Manage incident response, pipeline triage, and root-cause analysis for data failures, performance challenges, and metric inconsistencies.
β’ Act as the primary owner of data reliability, promoting continuous improvement while educating teams on certified datasets, governance practices, and reliable data usage.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required.
β’ Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform positions.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in building production workloads in Databricks or comparable Spark environments.
β’ Strong proficiency in Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, and Unity Catalog, encompassing governance, permissions, and data certification standards.
β’ Advanced programming capabilities in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
β’ Familiarity with analytical SQL, distributed data processing, production-grade pipelines, and automation.
β’ Demonstrated experience with data quality, observability, monitoring, anomaly detection, SLAs, validation, lineage, and self-healing pipeline frameworks.
β’ Extensive knowledge of data modeling, partitioning, file compaction, query/performance tuning, compute optimization, and workload isolation in large-scale production settings.
β’ Capability to convert technical requirements into business-oriented data solutions, standardize best practices, and mentor teams.
β’ Experience with Terraform and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Databricks Workflows is preferred.
β’ Domain knowledge in gaming/hospitality, loyalty/customer engagement, or marketing/commercial analytics is a plus.
