Senior Data Center Operations Engineer – Federal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform physical rack-and-stack deployments, structured cabling, and manage the lifecycle of infrastructure across production data centers.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and network issues.

• Repair or replace malfunctioning components as necessary.

• Oversee and address operational ticket queues effectively.

• Lead scheduled corrective maintenance and break/fix operations.

• Collaborate with engineering teams, system owners, and third-party Remote Hands technicians to confirm installations.

• Keep detailed asset tracking documentation up to date.

• Be prepared for up to 50% domestic and international travel.

• Deploy, maintain, and scale physical server, network, and cabling infrastructure for global production data center settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience utilizing modern AI tools, automation, or scripting to enhance data center operational workflows and diagnostics.

• At least 5 years of experience in production data center environments.

• Demonstrated success in engaging and directing remote data center vendors.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the assigned clientele.

• Strong technical knowledge of various server platforms, network hardware, optics, fiber plants, and copper cabling.

• Proficiency in Linux/Unix command-line interfaces, BIOS configurations, and out-of-band management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, and IPMI.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% (preferred).
