Senior Data Architect, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Define and articulate the long-term vision for data architecture, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.

• Oversee the transition of data pipelines to Microsoft Fabric while advancing data to the curated golden layer.

• Design and enhance data lake and Delta Lake-based architectures utilizing Azure Cloud Services.

• Assess and choose technologies, frameworks, and implementation standards.

• Establish and advocate for best practices in data management and governance.

• Work collaboratively with leadership teams and business stakeholders to meet evolving business demands.

• Identify intricate technical challenges and suggest innovative solutions.

• Offer advanced technical guidance to teams focused on data development and architecture.

• Review design decisions and resolve complex implementation challenges.

• Ensure that data architecture decisions adhere to data security regulations and standards.

• Mentor and empower team members, supporting their professional development.

• Build strategic partnerships with technology vendors and suppliers.

• Represent data architecture in both internal and external technical and strategic discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in English (C1 or higher) is necessary for direct interaction with international stakeholders.

• Significant hands-on experience with data platform architecture, including data modeling and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes at scale.

• Proven expertise with cloud data platforms, particularly Azure Cloud Services and Microsoft Fabric.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing data lakes and Delta Lake-based architectures.

• Demonstrated capability to lead teams through complex technology migrations and architectural transformations.

• Strong mentoring and technical leadership abilities, with a track record of supporting the development of less experienced team members.

• Ability to articulate complex data architecture concepts in a clear and accessible manner for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Relevant Azure certifications related to data platform architecture or Microsoft Fabric are a plus.

• Experience in defining data governance frameworks and ensuring data security compliance standards is advantageous.

• Experience collaborating with technology vendors and strategic suppliers on data platform projects is beneficial.

• Background in presenting technical or architectural strategies in cross-functional or executive forums is favorable.
