This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Develop the technical strategy and oversee architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems for comprehensive engagements.
• Design scalable cloud-native solutions, incorporating both multi-cloud and hybrid approaches.
• Create data architectures that encompass data warehouses, data lakes, and both batch and streaming pipelines.
• Construct AI/ML systems, which include model serving, MLOps pipelines, feature stores, and applications based on large language models (LLMs).
• Establish standards for infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Enhance performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Ensure that the architecture adheres to security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Lead initiatives for cloud migrations and modernization of platforms.
• Utilize AI-oriented tools such as Claude and Cursor to efficiently produce high-quality work.
• Collaborate with leadership and clients to set technical direction and align architectural decisions with business objectives.
• Convey complex technical ideas to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Work together with engineering, data, AI, and product teams.
• Create and sustain documentation, standards, and guidelines for architecture.
• Set architectural standards and best practices.
• Guide junior and mid-level engineers through mentoring.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for intricate architectural and integration issues.
• Assess emerging technologies and suggest tools, frameworks, and design patterns.
• A minimum of 8 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Strong foundation in microservices, serverless computing, containers, and event-driven systems, specifically Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda, and EventBridge.
• Expertise in infrastructure as code and CI/CD, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, and GitHub Actions.
• Robust data architecture knowledge across relational, NoSQL, and big data systems, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, Spark, and Kafka.
• Practical experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, and dbt.
• Significant experience in designing production AI/ML systems, including LLMs, MLOps, and model serving.
• Strong comprehension of networking, security, identity, and access management within cloud environments.
• Familiarity with governance, compliance, and observability frameworks.
• Proficient software engineering abilities in Python, APIs, and containerization.
• Proven leadership and technical mentoring experience.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, adept at translating technical depth for diverse audiences.
• Active use of AI-forward tools such as Claude and Cursor.
• Experience in multi-cloud architecture, AI ethics or responsible AI practices, or relevant enterprise architecture certifications is advantageous.
