This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Execute the designated cloud strategy initiatives by implementing work plans, establishing migration priorities, coordinating resources, managing risks, and achieving measurable results.
• Oversee workload assessments, migration, modernization, stabilization, and decommissioning efforts.
• Integrate cloud transformation while ensuring reliable operation and lifecycle management of current infrastructure services.
• Provide reporting on delivery, service, costs, and risks to the Vice President and governance bodies.
• Guide, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of direct reports, ensuring accountability for service ownership, team performance, cost management, and ongoing improvement.
• Encourage collaboration, innovation, and maintain a respectful, engaging, and productive workplace atmosphere.
• Develop internal expertise in Azure operations, cloud financial management, automation, and modern service methodologies.
• Supervise assigned partners and vendors to ensure delivery, maintain service quality, control costs, and facilitate documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Support the Cloud Centre of Excellence by implementing approved standards, guidelines, patterns, ownership models, and exception processes.
• Oversee availability, performance, capacity, support, maintenance, monitoring, lifecycle, service ownership, service levels, documentation, escalation paths, change controls, after-hours support, major incidents, recurring issues, recovery tests, control deficiencies, operational risks, and cloud financial management practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Relevant Azure or FinOps certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, cloud platforms, systems operations, or platform engineering.
• At least three years in a supervisory role, either people or technical leadership.
• Proven experience operating Microsoft Azure within a governed enterprise setting.
• Experience in managing cloud migration or modernization projects.
• Strong understanding of Azure governance, landing zones, identity and access management, networking, monitoring, compute, storage, backup, recovery, automation, and cost management.
• Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure, workload migration, managed cloud services, infrastructure as code, and service management.
• Knowledge of cloud security, privacy, compliance, resilience, disaster recovery, and audit requirements.
• Experience in leading teams, managing budgets, vendors, contracts, operational services, and technology projects.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical, operational, risk, and financial concepts to non-technical leaders.
