Senior Data Analyst, Claims Insights

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Evaluate claims data and effectively communicate insights both in writing and verbally to internal stakeholders.

• Extract insights and observations from intricate and diverse claims data and reports.

• Deliver presentations of findings to senior leadership.

• Address urgent requests and rapidly produce routine and ad hoc information.

• Spearhead the development or enhancement of detailed reports and tools across multiple business lines.

• Operate independently while utilizing resources when necessary.

• Assess the impacts of internal operational changes and external trends on frequency, severity, and overall loss outcomes.

• Cultivate industry knowledge and internal data expertise to tackle complex business challenges.

• Keep abreast of external industry trends and best practices.

• Collaborate with the team and management to devise innovative solutions using available information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline (preferably math, finance, actuarial science, or analytics).

• 4-6+ years of relevant analytical experience in the property and casualty sector (such as actuarial, business analytics, or finance).

• Proven problem-solving abilities and capacity to conduct exploratory data analysis.

• Proficient in Excel.

• Intermediate proficiency in SQL.

• Capability to work efficiently with large and complex data sets.

• Skill in transforming raw data into valuable information.

• Ability to distill complex business concepts into clear written and oral communications, including PowerPoint presentations.

• Understanding of key financial and operational metrics in the industry.

• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while delivering quality results.

• Proficient in using a personal computer and standard office equipment.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment.

• Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
