This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, develop, and maintain intricate data models, dashboards, and reports that facilitate decision-making at both organizational and program levels.
• Extract, clean, and transform substantial datasets from various sources utilizing SQL, Python, R, or comparable tools.
• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses pertinent to behavioral health programs and operations.
• Convert analytical insights into summaries and visual representations for audiences with varying technical expertise.
• Collaborate with program, operations, and leadership teams to ascertain data requirements and provide tailored solutions.
• Create and uphold data documentation, which includes data dictionaries, methodological notes, and reporting specifications.
• Oversee data quality and integrity, detect discrepancies, and resolve issues in a cross-functional manner.
• Aid in the development and enhancement of KPIs and metrics frameworks.
• Engage in the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of data tools, platforms, and pipelines.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the establishment of data standards and best practices.
• Remain updated on trends in data analytics, health informatics, and public behavioral health.
• Report findings and escalate any concerns regarding data quality or methodology to leadership.
• Access confidential county records, employee demographic data, and private behavioral health information responsibly, ensuring system integrity and security.
• A Bachelor's degree in healthcare, data science, computer science, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of four years of relevant informatics and analytics experience, or a suitable equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s-level training is preferred.
• Proven experience in architecting data models and pipelines that support multiple downstream analyses and visualizations.
• Capability to design and develop advanced dashboarding and reporting solutions, such as Power BI.
• Proficient in interpreting complex datasets and independently selecting and applying suitable statistical techniques and coding languages.
• Skilled in identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to assess and prioritize data product use cases based on their impact and feasibility.
• Advanced experience in data modeling, database development, and management.
• Capacity to exercise independent judgment and adapt to changing demands.
• Possess emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust and influence across teams.
• Strong communication and management skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Capability to identify and securely manage confidential and sensitive information.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Power BI is required.
• Knowledge of Tableau and ArcGIS Pro is preferred.
• Experience with Excel, R, or Python is preferred.
• Databricks experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Capacity to work with minimal supervision and exhibit excellent analytical and research skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, which include lifting and carrying materials up to 20 pounds and driving a motor vehicle on public roads and highways.
