Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Security Service Edge

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Create components for intricate security solutions that align with cybersecurity goals and organizational requirements.

• Configure and develop controls for security tools and systems.

• Design and conduct comprehensive testing of systems and technology in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Implement security systems and code into the existing infrastructure.

• Monitor and optimize security systems to enhance threat detection and mitigation.

• Establish automated processes for installation, configuration, and security operations.

• Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Technology teams on the implementation and maintenance of solutions.

• Suggest and execute prioritized process enhancements.

• Engage with vendors for routine support of security products and solutions.

• Design, implement, maintain, and improve internal controls to mitigate risks.

• Identify risk-related issues that need to be escalated to management.

• Uphold internal control standards and apply audit and regulatory requirements.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

• Work across various cybersecurity functions, including Data Loss Prevention Engineering, Detection Engineering, Identity and Access Engineering, Security & Network Infrastructure, Protection Engineering, and Cloud Engineering.

• Collaborate primarily with contributors and leaders in Cybersecurity and Technology, and occasionally with senior Cybersecurity leaders.

• Determine and develop solution strategies with periodic check-ins and minimal guidance.

• No supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or alternatively, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience.

• Intermediate comprehension of security system development, infrastructure lifecycle, architecture, and systems design.

• Demonstrated experience with tools used in the assigned Cybersecurity function.

• Experience in translating architecture into technical specifications.

• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proven track record of collaborating with leaders to achieve outcomes.

• Previous experience in gaining consensus from others to align on processes.

• Capability to analyze and derive conclusions based on quantitative data from various sources.

• Proficient in utilizing multiple Cybersecurity tools specific to the assigned function.
