Senior Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver thorough and practical legal counsel, alongside risk-informed guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Assist APX commercial operations by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, including commercial, financing, strategic alliances, customer, supplier, teaming, joint venture, engineering services, and feasibility-study contracts.

• Provide advisory services to internal clients regarding intricate commercial agreements and associated legal matters.

• Represent Westinghouse in both commercial negotiations and disputes.

• Collaborate with internal clients, in-house legal teams, external lawyers, utilities, project developers, construction partners, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Oversee and manage external legal counsel.

• Educate and advise management on legal issues, compliance, and strategies for risk mitigation.

• Travel domestically and internationally as necessary.

• Assist with governance obligations, internal approval workflows, and adherence to laws and regulations.

• Engage specialists to address legal risks linked to the development of new reactors.

• Stay updated on legal developments and provide pertinent updates to clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• 5-10+ years of experience representing clients in complex industrial, construction, procurement contract negotiations, or significant major project litigation cases.

• Proficient in offering legal advice on commercial business matters related to mega-project contract negotiations.

• Licensed to practice in an appropriate jurisdiction within the United States.

• Demonstrated experience in crafting high-quality legal documents, such as commercial agreements, letters, external correspondence, and memoranda.

• Proficiency in foreign languages is preferred.

• Previous in-house legal experience is preferred.
