Associate Counsel, Subrogation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Represent clients in arbitrations and lawsuits initiated in New Jersey.

• Manage various first-party insurance defense cases.

• Conduct legal research and draft briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Provide assessments on coverage, medical necessity/causation, damages, and value as needed by the Claims Department.

• Prepare and oversee arbitration submissions and examinations under oath.

• Defend cases through trial or dispositive hearings where applicable.

• Travel to trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience.

• Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is REQUIRED.

• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.

• Must satisfy and uphold licensing obligations, including any mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable.

• Must be willing to travel as needed, including for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

• Must be capable of documenting files in a clear, concise, and professional written format.

• Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts, or facilitate conflict resolution.

• Strong organizational, priority-setting, and multitasking abilities are required.

• Must be able to assimilate and apply substantial amounts of technical and procedural information.

• Civil litigation experience is preferred.

• Experience in insurance defense-related litigation and/or subrogation is preferred.

• Excellent professional communication skills are necessary, both in person, via telephone, and through written correspondence/email.
