Associate Counsel, PIP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Represent clients in arbitrations and lawsuits initiated in New Jersey, as well as manage other first-party insurance defense issues.

• Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Provide opinions on coverage, medical necessity/causation, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.

• Prepare and manage arbitration submissions and examinations under oath.

• Defend assigned cases through trial or dispositive hearings, as applicable.

• Travel to trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience.

• Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is REQUIRED.

• Must hold a valid license in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.

• Must fulfill and maintain licensing obligations, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable.

• Must be willing to travel as required, including attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

• Capable of documenting files in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

• Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts, or facilitate conflict resolution.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and multitask effectively.

• Must be able to learn and apply substantial amounts of technical and procedural information.

• Civil litigation experience is preferred.

• Experience in insurance defense-related litigation and/or personal injury is preferred.

• Must possess professional communication skills in person, over the phone, and in written correspondence/email.
