Senior Corporate Counsel, UK

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with clients and business partners.

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Deal Desk throughout the contracting process.

• Work alongside Finance and other internal stakeholders to address commercial and contractual issues.

• Provide pragmatic legal guidance that aligns business objectives with appropriate risk management.

• Advance negotiations by identifying issues, clarifying trade-offs, and discovering viable solutions.

• Support consistent and efficient contracting practices as Coder expands.

• Assist Coder in transitioning commercial agreements from initial redline to final signature.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of legal experience, including substantial in-house experience in negotiating commercial software licensing contracts.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a valid practicing certificate, or otherwise qualified and in good standing to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.

• Strong commercial acumen and experience working directly with business stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, characterized by clarity and conciseness.

• Ability to handle multiple negotiations and priorities while maintaining a keen attention to detail.

• Practical approach to legal counsel, differentiating between material risks and less critical issues that should not impede a deal.

• Experience with open source software or open source licensing is a plus.
