This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee the strategy, planning, and implementation of conventions for designated business sectors.
• Provide guidance to business stakeholders regarding convention opportunities, participation strategies, and optimizing event investments.
• Collaborate with marketing, communications, and sales teams to develop convention plans, messaging, and customer engagement strategies.
• Manage logistics for exhibits, including space selection, exhibitor services, vendor coordination, shipping, installation, dismantling, and on-site execution.
• Create and oversee convention budgets, forecasts, and expense management.
• Organize meetings, sponsored programs, and communications related to conventions.
• Work in partnership with industry associations, exhibitor advisory committees, and external collaborators.
• Ensure adherence to Medtronic policies, AdvaMed guidelines, association regulations, and relevant legal requirements.
• Travel as needed to support convention planning, conduct site visits, and execute events on-site.
• High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience, OR an Associate Degree with 6+ years, OR a Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years in convention management, event management, marketing operations, communications, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasts, project expenses, and vendor relationships.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Experience in planning and executing conventions, congresses, trade shows, exhibits, or large-scale corporate events.
• Background in supporting healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences convention programs.
• Familiarity with AdvaMed guidelines, healthcare compliance requirements, and association regulations.
• Experience in managing large or complex exhibits, sponsored programs, and multi-business convention initiatives.
• Experience working with professional associations, exhibitor advisory committees, or industry organizations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and event management platforms.
• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a qualification compliant with 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is necessary.
• Must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for positions below the Principal level.
