This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Develop automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical infrastructures for intricate data center and mission-critical projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers to create control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work with electrical designers to establish network architectures and points lists for electrical distribution and conditioning systems.
• Partner with ICT designers on structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Design robust OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial technologies with wireless, fiber, and copper mediums.
• Create a basis of design for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software, including datasheets.
• Develop and customize controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power monitoring technical specifications.
• Implement contemporary control system protocols and network prerequisites.
• Ensure adherence to US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models, tracking and justifying deviations from client models.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Work alongside global AECOM teams on high-profile data center initiatives.
• Oversee project schedules and budgets in a proactive, client-facing capacity.
• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of pertinent experience or proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Minimum of four years as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (I&C) or controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Familiarity with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Background in data center or other mission-critical environments.
• Understanding of US codes and standards.
• Experience with Operational Technology Networks.
• Proficient with SCADA platforms and defining technical cybersecurity specifications.
• Acquainted with BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Capability to verify compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards/practices.
• Willingness to work flexible hours for project meetings and calls.
• Ability to manage schedules and budget expectations, multitask, adapt to project deadlines, and collaborate effectively.
