This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Create and oversee a cohesive editorial calendar that spans email newsletters, blogs, websites, executive thought leadership, public relations, fundraising initiatives, and organizational priorities.
• Identify relevant stories, trends, program advancements, and expertise to generate timely external content.
• Collect information from program leaders, philanthropy personnel, executives, and various organizational stakeholders.
• Simplify complex programmatic details and sensitive topics into clear and accessible content.
• Uphold the organizational voice across diverse audiences, including donors, partners, parents, educators, policymakers, media, and the general public.
• Adapt stories and thought leadership for various platforms such as email, websites, social media, earned media, fundraising campaigns, and other channels.
• Establish editorial workflows, review procedures, and content standards.
• Ghostwrite executive thought leadership materials, including contributions for Forbes, op-eds, articles, commentary, speeches, talking points, letters, and other executive communications.
• Collaborate with executives, subject-matter experts, and public relations agencies on relevant topics and perspectives.
• Conduct interviews and research to draft content that is ready for publication.
• Assist executives in preparing for media interviews, speaking engagements, panels, and visibility opportunities.
• Develop and implement an SEO-informed content strategy to enhance organic visibility and connect audiences with resources for child abuse prevention, intervention, treatment, and support.
• Perform keyword research; write, edit, publish, and refresh search-optimized blog content.
• Utilize SEO best practices for titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, calls to action, readability, and overall structure.
• Monitor organic traffic, keyword performance, engagement metrics, and conversions.
• Manage updates to website copy, landing pages, program pages, campaign pages, resource content, and calls to action.
• Enhance website structure, content hierarchy, internal linking, user journeys, and conversion pathways.
• Conduct content audits and recommend necessary updates, consolidation, optimization, or removal.
• Lead the planning, content gathering, writing, editing, production, and distribution of newsletters.
• Coordinate approvals, assets, links, testing, and deployment of newsletters through an email marketing platform.
• Analyze newsletter performance metrics and apply insights to future communications.
• Provide support for additional organizational and campaign email content.
• Assist in managing Childhelp’s external public relations agency.
• Supply background information, executive drafts, organizational updates, program details, messaging, and other content for media opportunities.
• Collaborate on press materials, media pitches, contributed content, executive positioning, and responses to current news.
• Ensure alignment across public relations, website, email, social media, fundraising, and campaign messaging.
• Track content opportunities and deliverables related to earned-media initiatives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Five or more years of professional experience in content marketing, communications, journalism, editorial strategy, or a related field.
• Outstanding writing, editing, proofreading, research, and interviewing abilities.
• Proven experience in ghostwriting for executives, organizational leaders, or subject-matter experts.
• A strong portfolio showcasing executive thought leadership, op-eds, blogs, email communications, and website copy.
• Practical SEO experience, including keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content performance analysis.
• Experience in producing newsletters and proficiency with Mailchimp or a similar email marketing platform.
• A solid understanding of editorial planning and integrated content development across multiple channels.
• Familiarity with public relations and experience collaborating with an external agency or media-relations team.
• Ability to gather information from busy leaders and internal stakeholders, manage competing deadlines, and independently advance projects.
• Strong project management, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Sound editorial judgment with the ability to approach sensitive topics with empathy, accuracy, care, and discretion.
