Senior Consultant, Healthcare Strategy – Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee specified workstreams within healthcare strategy and transformation projects, managing daily operations, analytical outputs, and narrative development.

• Convert unclear client requirements into organized problem-solving by defining issues, forming hypotheses, creating work plans, and driving implementation.

• Utilize expertise in commercial payers/providers to address federal health challenges.

• Conduct and supervise both quantitative and qualitative analyses, transforming results into actionable insights for decision-making.

• Create executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and concise written documentation.

• Facilitate operational and performance transformations by assessing current states, pinpointing challenges, designing target-state processes/operating models, and establishing governance and metrics.

• Organize and lead working sessions, interviews, and workshops; aggregate inputs; and manage communications with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Mentor and coach junior staff by providing delegation, quality oversight, and constructive feedback.

• Contribute to the development of internal capabilities, thought leadership, templates, accelerators, proposals, and capture strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 3 years of experience in consulting and/or roles within the healthcare industry.

• Proven track record in healthcare strategy and/or transformation, with experience in payer/provider environments, operating models, or performance enhancement.

• Comprehensive understanding of commercial payer/provider systems, including reimbursement/payment principles and the impact of policy and payment frameworks on outcomes.

• Strong analytical capabilities and comfort in handling data.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

• Established ability to lead workstreams, create client-ready deliverables, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.

• Eligibility for a Public Trust clearance (US Citizenship required).

• Willingness to travel as necessary (up to 25%).

• Preference will be given to candidates located within 50 miles of Guidehouse's McLean, VA office.

• Experience in commercial payer/provider settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with commercial payer functions is advantageous.

• Provider-side strategy/operations experience is beneficial.

• Experience supporting federal health programs (preferably with the VA) is advantageous.

• Background in analytics-enabled transformation is a plus.

• An MBA/MHA/MPH or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
