This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development of compliance programs, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and work plans.
• Perform compliance risk assessments and gap analyses within clinical, operational, and revenue cycle functions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on federal and state healthcare laws and payer requirements.
• Support clients with audit defense activities.
• Create and deliver compliance training programs.
• Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential compliance risks; present findings to stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on HIPAA privacy and breach response best practices to clients.
• Aid in the implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows, internal controls, and documentation practices.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and evaluate their effects on clients.
• Serve as an outsourced or fractional compliance resource for daily compliance needs and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to client deliverables, reports, and presentations by providing clear, actionable recommendations.
• Engage in business development support activities, including the development of proposals.
• 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, consulting, practice administration, or a related field.
• Experience in interpreting and applying healthcare regulations, including CMS, OIG, HIPAA, and state-specific requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• One or more relevant certifications are required: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC).
• CPC or other AAPC or AHIMA coding/auditing credentials are a plus, but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance program elements and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to conduct independent regulatory research and translate findings into practical guidance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with Electronic Health Records.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentation capabilities.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Professional judgment, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information.
