Senior Consultant, Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conceptualize, design, and implement new features using the Appian low-code platform based on the prioritized product backlog.

• Apply innovative and creative thinking to tackle challenging problems, collaborating with peers and leveraging both internal and external resources.

• Provide estimates for upcoming sprint activities based on the current understanding of functionality.

• Collaborate with functional and testing teams to comprehend business functionalities and ensure that developed solutions meet or exceed end-user expectations.

• Conduct unit testing on all developed features, including edge cases.

• Perform peer reviews of code developed by other team members as necessary.

• Attend and actively engage in Agile meetings, including User Story grooming, Sprint Planning, and retrospectives.

• Present to clients during Sprint demos and coordinate meetings with intersecting teams.

• Participate in company knowledge-sharing sessions to disseminate best practices and white papers.

• Gain insights from peers and senior colleagues while mentoring junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent IT-related qualification.

• Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government’s Public Trust security clearance.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in designing and implementing digital, BPM, or case management solutions using Appian.

• Proficient in Appian development and debugging techniques.

• A solid understanding of data concepts (SQL, Databases) and business workflows.

• Experience with recent versions of Appian (20.x and later).

• Hands-on experience in designing and building applications focused on modern/synced Record Types and related features.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical and business stakeholders at all levels.

• Familiarity with Appian SAIL, Process Models, Interfaces, Process Monitoring, and/or Integrations.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and take timely action.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and Agile project management.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Good organizational and time management skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in a remote work environment.

• Experience collaborating with software development team members.

• Additional experience with open-source technologies is preferred.
