Senior Compliance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Canadian compliance program, ensuring alignment with CSA National Instruments, Restricted Dealer and Marketplace registrations, and any exemptive relief.

• Contribute to Crypto.com Canada’s CIRO membership by reviewing and revising policies, procedures, and controls.

• Keep track of regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on products, services, processes, and customer onboarding.

• Analyze and provide compliance guidance regarding product launches, modifications, digital asset offerings, custody, onboarding, and operational workflows.

• Draft, maintain, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, monitoring plans, registers, and program documentation.

• Aid in the design and delivery of compliance training for employees and business stakeholders.

• Support the review and escalation of compliance incidents, complaints, significant issues, and regulatory concerns to the CCO and UDP.

• Evaluate marketing and customer-facing materials for compliance with regulatory standards and disclosures.

• Assist in the management of registration for the firm and individual representatives, including necessary filings and record-keeping.

• Provide assistance during regulatory examinations, meetings, and information requests involving OSC, CIRO, FINTRAC, and other Canadian regulators.

• Collaborate with teams in Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Aid in compliance monitoring, testing, issue tracking, and reporting to senior management.

• Enhance governance, documentation, and audit trails to ensure the program remains operationally effective and ready for inspections.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, risk, or securities, with significant exposure to Canadian securities regulations.

• Strong understanding of CSA National Instruments applicable to cryptocurrency trading platforms, securities dealers, marketplaces, digital assets, custody, and client onboarding.

• Familiarity with CIRO requirements and best practices, or the capability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

• Proven experience supporting compliance programs for a securities dealer, marketplace, fintech, crypto trading platform, financial institution, or a similarly regulated entity.

• Must be a Canadian resident capable of effectively engaging with Canadian regulatory stakeholders.

• Must hold Approved Person registration under relevant CSA/CIRO requirements, or demonstrate willingness and ability to secure the necessary registration.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to non-specialists clearly.

• Skilled in building trustworthy relationships, constructively challenging ideas, and influencing decisions across various functions.

• Comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholders.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-focused, exhibiting sound judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.

• Preferred experience in digital assets, securities, custody, financial crime compliance, or regulated onboarding.

• Background in supporting regulatory examinations, audits, remediation programs, or meetings with regulators.

• Experience with compliance monitoring, handling complaints, reviewing marketing, managing registrations, or regulatory reporting.

• Knowledge of FINTRAC, AML/CTF, sanctions, privacy, or market integrity obligations relevant to Canadian digital asset businesses.

• Possession of a relevant professional designation or legal/compliance qualification.

• Understanding of certain OCC Banking regulations.
