Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Engineer and oversee containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.

• Create and sustain Terraform Infrastructure as Code solutions, reusable modules, automation frameworks, and standardized deployment methodologies.

• Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other relevant DevOps tools.

• Architect and support AWS networking solutions, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Route 53, VPN connectivity, and load balancing services.

• Establish cloud security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements through IAM, AWS Organizations, SCPs, KMS, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Config.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance cloud platform reliability via observability, incident response, root cause analysis, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and operational automation.

• Collaborate with Application Development, DevOps, Security, Database, and Cloud Operations teams to deliver cloud solutions, support modernization efforts, set engineering standards, and promote continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Over 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.

• More than 5 years of practical AWS experience supporting enterprise environments.

• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform.

• Hands-on experience in building and managing Kubernetes platforms, ideally Amazon EKS.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of DevOps, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Proficient scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Experience in supporting highly available, production-grade cloud environments.

• Robust troubleshooting and performance optimization capabilities.
