This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee platform security for IRS EDP in close collaboration with IRS federal security personnel.
• Track AWS/Databricks telemetry for security anomalies, IAM misconfigurations, and expired credentials.
• Evaluate network controls, PrivateLink setups, and VPC security architecture; ensure centralized alerting is maintained.
• Coordinate responses to security incidents and act as a primary liaison with IRS CSIRC.
• Direct entitlement reviews, key and certificate rotation, and monitoring of encryption compliance.
• Offer senior security advice regarding POA&M remediation and the implementation of security controls.
• Assist in DR/COOP testing and security audit activities in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Analyst.
• Aid in IRS ATO renewal and ongoing monitoring tasks throughout the contract duration.
• Ensure adherence to FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, and IRS security requirements.
• Collaborate with federal stakeholders to manage risk, supervise POA&M initiatives, and maintain a secure, compliant cloud environment.
• An active MBI is required; candidates undergoing the process are not eligible.
• Preference for candidates with active IRS or Treasury cybersecurity contract experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in FedRAMP High or similar high-security AWS cloud environments.
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty is strongly preferred.
• Current certifications in CISSP, CCSP, or CompTIA Security+.
• Extensive understanding of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 and IRS Publication 4812.
• Experience in POA&M management and structured GRC environments.
• Familiarity with AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Config, and IAM Access Analyzer.
• Background in supporting formal ATO processes and continuous monitoring initiatives.
• Working knowledge of OSCAL format for documenting security controls.
• Willingness to engage in a 75% contract commitment, with the possibility of concurrent employment.
• A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience with AWS security services, SIEM tools, GRC/ATO platforms, vulnerability management tools, Terraform, Git, and Databricks/Lake Formation security controls.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must meet eligibility criteria for classified information access and be able to obtain a government-issued security clearance.
• Candidates may undergo background checks, including criminal history, employment, education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness assessments.
• This position is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.
