This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Spearhead the design, engineering, and advancement of enterprise-level Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and capabilities.
• Deliver technical leadership for secure, scalable, resilient, and automated cloud solutions.
• Strategize, design, implement, and continually enhance GCP infrastructure, cloud-native services, and platform engineering functionalities.
• Create architectural patterns, engineering standards, automation solutions, and reusable platform functionalities.
• Assess cloud products and services along with their integration needs across interconnected technologies.
• Provide technical direction for cloud platform projects and modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with cloud platform engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, SRE, and application delivery teams.
• Develop and advocate for cloud standards, reference architectures, governance controls, and best practices for the platform.
• Lead architectural and design initiatives related to cloud computing, container platforms, automation, IAM, networking, observability, and operational resilience.
• Offer technical advice to engineering teams and assist in resolving intricate technical issues.
• Foster alignment among stakeholders and influence architectural decisions.
• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, cloud-native architecture, policy-based governance, and platform engineering methodologies.
• Manage Google Cloud Platform as an internal product with a focus on adoption, usability, security, reliability, operational excellence, governance, and developer enablement.
• Operate with significant autonomy and minimal oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience designing and operating public cloud solutions.
• A minimum of 2 years working with Google Cloud Platform or comparable public cloud platforms.
• Proven experience in designing large-scale cloud architectures within regulated enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code; experience with Terraform is preferred.
• Background in cloud platform engineering, automation, and self-service enablement concepts.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD and automation solutions.
• Knowledge of implementing cloud security and governance controls.
• Strong grasp of networking, identity, observability, and cloud operations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions across teams and organizations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office setup.
• Minimum internet speed requirements of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
• Satellite and wireless internet services are not permitted.
