Senior Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud platform architectures.

• Convert enterprise architecture strategies into solution designs, reference architectures, reusable implementation patterns, and engineering standards.

• Develop technical architectures that support cloud platform modernization and operational excellence.

• Engage in architecture reviews and offer technical guidance.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance cloud platform capabilities.

• Architect reusable cloud platform services, implementation patterns, and engineering frameworks.

• Assess cloud services, technologies, and engineering methodologies for scalability, resiliency, security, automation, and cost-effectiveness.

• Assist with cloud migration and modernization projects.

• Design and advocate for Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, Pipeline as Code, and Policy as Code practices.

• Establish deployment templates, automation frameworks, and CI/CD implementation standards.

• Enhance automation, deployment reliability, configuration management, and operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with governance, security, regulatory, and operational standards.

• Integrate identity management, networking, resiliency, disaster recovery, observability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness into designs.

• Identify implementation risks and suggest mitigation strategies.

• Provide technical leadership throughout the solution design, implementation, deployment, and operational support phases.

• Mentor engineers and technical teams.

• Encourage knowledge sharing through documentation, technical standards, design patterns, and best practices.

• Work collaboratively with architecture, engineering, operations, SRE, security, and delivery teams.

• Contribute to technology evaluations, proof-of-concept initiatives, architecture reviews, and platform enhancement efforts.

• Document architectural decisions, implementation patterns, technical standards, and operational guidance.

• Offer architectural guidance, technical estimates, implementation recommendations, and risk assessments during project planning.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree related to the position or equivalent experience is preferred.

• At least five years of experience in cloud architecture and/or development.

• Minimum five years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud platforms and cloud-native solutions.

• Experience in architecting cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure or another enterprise public cloud provider.

• Proven experience in designing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures that support enterprise workloads.

• Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud platform engineering practices.

• Knowledge in designing cloud security, identity, networking, resiliency, monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery capabilities.

• Experience in evaluating cloud technologies and recommending effective implementation approaches.

• Collaborated with engineering teams to modernize cloud platforms and establish reusable engineering standards.

• Familiarity with source control systems, Git-based workflows, and contemporary software development lifecycle practices.

• Experience working within Agile delivery environments using GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Capable of effectively communicating architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based applications, and third-party software.

• Willingness to travel 5–10% of the time.
