Senior Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available architectures for cloud platforms.

• Convert enterprise architecture strategies into solution designs, reference architectures, reusable implementation patterns, and engineering standards.

• Engage in architecture reviews and offer technical insights.

• Enhance cloud platform capabilities and elevate operational maturity.

• Create reusable cloud platform services, engineering frameworks, and implementation patterns.

• Assess cloud services, technologies, and engineering methods for scalability, resiliency, security, automation, and cost efficiency.

• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, Pipeline as Code, and Policy as Code.

• Set up deployment templates, automation frameworks, and CI/CD implementation standards.

• Integrate identity, networking, resiliency, disaster recovery, observability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness into designs.

• Recognize implementation risks and propose mitigation strategies.

• Offer technical leadership throughout the phases of solution design, implementation, deployment, and operational support.

• Guide engineers and technical teams.

• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, operations, SRE, security, and delivery teams.

• Contribute to technology assessments, proof-of-concept initiatives, architecture reviews, and enhancements to platforms.

• Record architectural decisions, implementation patterns, technical standards, and operational guidelines.

• Provide architectural advice, technical estimates, implementation suggestions, and risk evaluations during project planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree relevant to the position or equivalent experience is preferred.

• At least five years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud platforms and cloud-native solutions.

• Proficient in architecting cloud solutions with Microsoft Azure or another enterprise public cloud provider.

• Experience in designing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures for enterprise workloads.

• Skilled in implementing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud platform engineering practices.

• Knowledgeable in designing cloud security, identity, networking, resiliency, monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery capabilities.

• Experience in evaluating cloud technologies and recommending implementation strategies.

• Proven track record of modernizing cloud platforms and establishing reusable engineering standards with engineering teams.

• Familiarity with source control systems, Git-based workflows, and contemporary software development lifecycle practices.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments using GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Ability to articulate architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of thriving in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications.
