Senior Claims Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic guidance, operational management, and hands-on oversight for AMSURG’s extensive claims portfolio.

• Oversee the complete claims lifecycle within the Risk Management department.

• Manage a diverse portfolio that includes Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability claims.

• Evaluate and investigate reported incidents, claims, and allegations.

• Determine liability, assess compensability, confirm coverages, and handle notifications to carriers.

• Collaborate with external insurance adjusters and legal counsel on defense strategies and claim resolutions.

• Execute releases or payments within specified authority limits.

• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, operational excellence, high performance, and compliance.

• Provide guidance to Corporate and Center staff on claims-related matters.

• Enhance Return-to-Work programs and handle subpoenas and medical record requests.

• Analyze intricate claims data and third-party loss runs to pinpoint risk trends.

• Create ad-hoc reports and convert data into strategic insights for leadership.

• Engage in collaboration with Finance, Legal, IT, Real Estate, and Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• At least eight (8) years of experience in claims handling.

• Foundational knowledge of claims processes, encompassing both litigated and non-litigated issues.

• Familiarity with reserve setting, claims finances, and loss run data analysis.

• Strong understanding of state or federal regulations and/or statutes related to insured claims is preferred.

• Experience in Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Property claims is highly desirable.

• Capability to evaluate liability and ascertain compensability.

• Proficient in verifying coverages and managing notifications to carriers.

• Experience in handling litigation, external insurance adjusters, and legal counsel.

• Analytical skills to identify risk trends from complex claims data and third-party loss runs.
