This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Provide litigation assistance throughout all stages of the litigation process under the guidance of an attorney.
• Conduct legal research to support attorneys.
• Draft and manage intricate pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, deposition summaries, abstracts, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
• Analyze, organize, and summarize medical records and case-related documentation for discovery, case strategy, settlement assessment, and trial preparation.
• Coordinate and implement discovery and case investigations, including identifying key issues, formulating discovery plans, and managing timelines.
• Conduct interviews and communicate with insured parties, company representatives, expert witnesses, fact witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Prepare materials for witnesses, responses to discovery, demonstrative exhibits, and documents to support trial efforts.
• Assist with trial preparation, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings by preparing exhibits, witness binders, chronologies, and case summaries.
• Maintain and manage complex litigation files and electronic case records.
• Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, compliance with court deadlines, and proactive calendar management.
• Evaluate case files, assess potential for settlement, and recommend further investigation or documentation.
• Obtain, review, and analyze medical, employment, financial, and other pertinent records.
• Prepare statements of facts, case summaries, hearing outlines, and contentions for arbitration or trial.
• Report to a manager in legal services.
• Extensive experience in litigation.
• Proven experience in legal research, conducting investigations, gathering and summarizing medical records, indexing depositions, collecting evidence, and preparing trial exhibits.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, deposition summaries, discovery responses, and other legal correspondence.
• Proficient in PC software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Acrobat, and FrontPage.
• Familiarity with handling confidential documents and sensitive situations.
• Understanding of legal ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of tort and contract law, legal procedures, legal terminology, and the judicial system.
• Experience managing litigation matters in Clark County courts and familiarity with local procedures and practices.
• Working knowledge of Nevada civil procedure, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency in LegalFiles or similar case management systems.
• Experience in identifying, retaining, and managing expert witnesses across various disciplines.
• Experience managing expert and discovery disclosures, including timely production of records and case materials.
• Ability to conduct complex investigations independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience mentoring, training, or acting as a resource for other legal professionals.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
