Senior Cisco Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and resolve issues within Cisco enterprise network environments.

• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco IOS environments effectively.

• Identify and address complex network problems spanning multiple technology layers.

• Oversee the Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) environments.

• Handle firewall policies, access control, NAT, VPN technologies, and perform security troubleshooting.

• Implement and maintain Remote Access and Site-to-Site IPsec VPN solutions.

• Ensure comprehensive operational documentation and support change management processes.

• Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise network environments.

• In-depth knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies, including Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, spanning tree, routing protocols, redundancy, and general network operations.

• Advanced skills in Cisco IOS command-line administration and troubleshooting.

• Proven capability to diagnose and resolve intricate network issues across various technology layers.

• Experience with administering Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) environments.

• Strong grasp of firewall policy management, access control, NAT, VPN technologies, and security troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with deploying and supporting Remote Access and Site-to-Site IPsec VPN solutions.

• Preferred experience with Cisco SD-WAN, including vManage, vSmart, Catalyst 8000 platforms, policy administration, and troubleshooting.

• Preferred experience in Cisco ASA firewall administration and migration.

• Preferred knowledge of Cisco wireless networking, including Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), WLAN deployment, and wireless security.

• Competency in enterprise routing and switching.

• Expertise in firewall and security policy management.

• Proficiency in VPN deployment and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of NAT design and troubleshooting.

• Skills in network monitoring and packet analysis.

• Experience with change management and network documentation.
