Senior CFD & Thermal Fluids Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Create CFD models for scrubber vessel designs, integrated ducting, outlet filtration, piping, fittings, and baffles.

• Evaluate flow rates, pressure drops, flowback risks, thermal influences, and distribution uniformity.

• Assist in altitude and cold-weather design evaluations using existing requirements and test data.

• Execute design iterations and suggest modifications to geometry or components.

• Record model setup, assumptions, mesh independence, results, risks, and validation requirements.

• Aid in the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution.

• Conduct flow and heat-transfer simulations for scrubber systems, piping, and applications related to cold weather and altitude.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in CFD or thermal-fluids analysis.

• Practical experience with CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of internal-flow CFD, pressure drop analysis, flow distribution, recirculation, multiphase dynamics, and thermal/heat-transfer assessments.

• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and numerical methods.

• Proficiency in mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary-condition definition, convergence evaluation, and result verification.

• Experience in flow balancing for ducts, baffles, vessels, piping, fittings, scrubber systems, pumps, and heaters.

• Proficiency in English at levels B2–C1.

• Experience with energy storage systems is a plus.

• Familiarity with large-scale mechanical or industrial projects is preferred.

• Experience with PLM systems like TeamCenter or Windchill is an advantage.

• Background in design optimization is desirable.

• Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices is beneficial.

• Understanding of advanced manufacturing processes is an asset.

• Expertise in material selection for extreme environments is preferred.
